Please note the following points where there is a need to upgrade your chat server:
Note: The hosting clients do not need to worry about this. Once a new upgrade is out their site will automatically be up upgraded.
1. You can download the latest version of the software from the same place you originally downloaded your installation files.
2. If a release is not announced on the site, it's not official, so please don't expect to have the documentations before hand.
My suggestion is if you are not in a hurry to get your hands of the latest version, do not upgrade your system until we officially release it.
3. Since we constantly update the software and have a new release out almost once a month (new builds, or new versions), and not everyone updates the system at the same time, it's not feasible to write down an exact upgrade procedure. However, the documentations get updated as soon as the release is officially released.
You can find them in the documentation section of the site.
4. Before applying the upgrade, please do an installation on a different location to test the software on your system. We make every effort to check the chat software on a variety of platforms, but servers are not so predictable and occasionally problems do occur.
5. After you have tested the software and it all works, get a backup of your old working system.
6. At that point integrate the new release it with your old chat. There are 3 ways you can do this:
A. Overwriting the files in the old directory and restarting the chat server, B. By installation it on top of the current working version
C. By changing the path of your chat site to the new installation directory
I would highly recommend method C. This way, you still have your older installation and if by any chance there are problems you can switch back till the problem is fixed and after the software is tested and you are happy with it, you can delete the old one. |

that sounds all good there
however, when I attempted to install 3.3 to use the same mysql database 3.2 was using I got errors, saying duplicate enteries
it wouldn't do it cuz 3.3 added new table
I can install on a new database but not the one used by 3.2 |

Hi,
We tried to make installation and upgrade as simple as possible. GlassRoom 3.3 automatically generates required tables to make the upgrade process easy. Please send us full of your log files to check the problem. |

Dear Merjawy,
Yes, but it has a bug and we took it offline.
As for the dates go, don't pay any attention to them. Those are the build dates and not the release dates |
